Manager of Data & Analytics
Our Client, a consumer subscription business, is seeking a hands-on Manager of Data & Analytics to own their analytics function end-to-end. This is a senior individual contributor role with a small team underneath, but the priority is finding a sharp operator who can write code, architect data flows, and translate raw data into executive-ready insight. The right person treats the analytics function as theirs to own, not just to execute on.
This role reports directly to the CTO and has visibility to the broader executive team and is the cornerstone of nearly every leadership meeting.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the data architecture flowing from Marketing Cloud through Microsoft Fabric and out to Power BI, Claude Enterprise, and downstream consumers like the contact center.
- Rebuild and stabilize the Power BI layer so dashboards are consistent, refresh reliably, and can be produced in a day, not weeks.
- Keep business logic in the data warehouse layer (not the BI tool) so it remains reusable across LLMs, applications, and other downstream tools.
- Continue building out the company’s AI/LLM integration: MCP servers, data dictionaries, and skills files that allow Claude Enterprise to query and reason over company data accurately.
- Deliver daily reporting and insight to the executive team, applying an executive lens on the data (is it even there, and what is it telling us?) rather than producing reports on demand.
- Manage a small analytics team: one full-time analyst plus part-time intern and contractor resources.
- Drive continued evolution toward open-source LLMs on-prem as the company scales its AI footprint.
Qualifications
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on data and analytics experience in a B2C environment. DTC, subscription, or performance marketing backgrounds are ideal. Strong agency candidates with the right marketing fluency will be considered.
- Deep technical skill in SQL and Python. You write code daily and you’re fast at it.
- Strong preference for Microsoft Fabric experience to hit the ground running. Snowflake or comparable data lake experience is acceptable when transferable skills are strong.
- Production experience with Power BI as the primary BI layer.
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines and architecture, ideally with Marketing Cloud as a source.
- Working knowledge of LLM integration with structured data: MCP servers, retrieval pipelines, data dictionaries, skills design. Experience shaping or fine-tuning open-source models on-prem is a meaningful plus.
- Strong B2C marketing analytics fluency across acquisition, retention, attribution, and lifecycle.
- Excellent executive communication. You can present to a CEO without notes, read the room, and push back constructively without being combative.
Impact of the Role
The company has built a strong data foundation, but the BI and executive-insight layers haven’t kept pace. This role fixes that and, in doing so, becomes the daily source of truth for a leadership team making real-time operating decisions. The person who succeeds here will be visible, valued, and central to how the business runs.
