Our client, Lifebooker in NYC is looking for a DevOps / Release Engineer to support the operations of their engineering team. They are executing an ambitious roadmap of exciting product developments to disrupt the largely offline luxury industry through discovery shopping, and are looking for someone with a background in software development operations, release management, and a proven track record of effective delivery. You will work closely with our development and QA teams (both in-house and external) to provide secure and reliable releases and server management. Their technology stack is comprised of Ruby,MySQL, JQuery, HTML5, CSS3, AWS, Solr, Git, Pivotal Tracker, etc. They follow agile development practices and believe in frequent releases and iterations.
Responsibilities:
- Own and manage our production and development environments, including monitoring and automatic scaling
- Release management – perform 3 to 5 releases a week
- Improving the release process
- Setting up a continuous integration system and continuous deployment system
- Troubleshooting production issues
- Monitoring system performance
- Performing on-call duties
- Work with our development team to implement and evolve solutions for a wide array of challenging problems
Requirements:
- Experience with Amazon AWS – EC2, RDS, CloudFront
- Experience with Apache, WSGI, Ruby, mongodb or cassandra, Github
- RightScale experience ideal
- Self-motivated, able to self-prioritize, and able to deal with ambiguity
- Attention to detail and desire to work in a fast-paced startup on challenging problems
- Experience required: 5 to 10 years
