As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will work on automating our AWS infrastructure, developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, and security. What you’ll do:
- Set up secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure on AWS (using Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration Management systems)
- Build and maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to build effective developer tools
- Be closely involved in all architecture conversations and decisions
What we’re looking for
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- 5+ years of AWS experience including:
- Administering IAM Users, Groups, and Security Policies
- Linux EC2 instances and auto-scaling groups
- High Availability VPC and Security Group network configurations
- CloudFront & Load Balancer reverse proxies
- Domain management, DNS configuration, SSL Certificates
- Postgres / MySQL RDS cluster management and backups
- Solid knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration management tooling (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
- Familiar with best practices and governance for storing, rotating, and sharing passwords, secret credentials, and private key information.
- Comfortable with Linux terminal, shell scripting, SSH configuration, and IPV4 networking
- Experience with CI/CD tools – GitHub Action Workflows, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc
- Working knowledge of Linux Containers and VMs – Docker, LXD, KVM, Virtual Box, etc
- Familiar with solutions for:
- Metrics – e.g. htop, BCC, CloudWatch, Netdata, Prometheus, etc
- Monitoring – e.g. pingdom, nagios, pagerduty, etc
- Logging – e.g. journalctl, syslogd, CloudFlare, DataDog, ELK stack, etc
- Experience working as part of the team and writing documentation in Confluence
- Strong technical opinions loosely held – you need to have convictions, but willing to change your mind
Preferred:
- Fast-paced early stage startup experience
- BS in CS or equivalent work experience
